My name is Scott Coleman – but I usually go by just Coleman. I have been involved in tattooing for over 20 years and have been tattooing full time professionally for over eight. I taught myself for a year and a half with friends until in 2000 I met Scot Padgett at his studio the Living Art Studio in Stafford Springs, Connecticut. I apprenticed under him and Dan Soule, who also was an artist at the time. I was working a full-time job and then part-time at night at the tattoo studio.
When tattooing was legalized in Massachusetts, Living Art moved to Northampton, MA. In 2002 I left my regular job and became a full-time tattoo artist. I stayed there until just recently when I was given the opportunity to run my own place, and I took it.
I love my job and what I do. I’m not a rock star, just a hard working guy who is all about the customer getting a quality piece of work. Everyone should have a custom piece to cherish and that happens when I take your vision and turn it into a piece of art ink’d on your own body canvas.
I’ve been married for over 30 years to my wonderful wife Ginger and we have a beautiful daughter, Andrea, who fills our lives with joy. I would like to thank them for standing by me while I pursued this career. It took me away from home and I missed a lot of time with them.
I’m a member of the National Tattoo Association and the A.P.T (Alliance of Professional Tattooists). I’m certified in Bloodborne pathogens, CPR, and first aid and keep all of them current. I’m always trying to improve in my profession by attending seminars and classes about tattooing, and even going to conventions to see others work and displaying some of mine. I’ve even been fortunate enough to win multiple first and second place trophies, which means a lot to me to be recognized by other artists for my hard work.
Thanks for checking out my studio and work. I like getting e-mails and feedback on the site, so feel free to share your thoughts. Keep checking for any updates and I hope to see you at the studio.
